TaskMerit LLC ("TaskMerit," "we," "us," or "our") provides software that helps field-service businesses manage customers, properties, employees, crews, schedules, services, work records, communications, documents, accounting connections, and related business operations.

This Privacy Policy explains how TaskMerit collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use taskmerit.com, TaskMerit applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. TaskMerit's Role

Organizations use TaskMerit to manage their own business operations. For information an organization enters about its customers, employees, contractors, properties, and work, that organization generally determines why the information is collected and how it is used. TaskMerit processes that information to provide the Service.

If your information was entered by a TaskMerit customer, you should normally direct requests about that information to the organization that collected it.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features an organization enables, we may process:

  • Account information, including names, email addresses, telephone numbers, authentication status, roles, permissions, and company membership.
  • Company information, including business names, addresses, contacts, service areas, settings, and subscription information.
  • Customer and property information, including contact details, service addresses, property notes, access instructions, measurements, preferences, service history, and safety-related information.
  • Employee and contractor information, including work contact information, roles, crew assignments, schedules, time records, job activity, qualifications, and employment status.
  • Operational information, including estimates, services, visits, work records, materials, equipment, contracts, invoices, communications, notes, photographs, and documents.
  • Location information when an organization enables a location-dependent feature and has provided all legally required notice and obtained any required consent.
  • Integration information, including identifiers, authorization tokens, synchronization status, imported or exported records, and error information from services such as QuickBooks Online.
  • Support and security information, including support requests, authorized support-session activity, audit records, device and browser information, IP addresses, authentication events, and diagnostic logs.
  • Communications you send to TaskMerit, including support requests, feedback, and account-related correspondence.

We do not receive or store a user's QuickBooks password. QuickBooks authentication is handled by Intuit.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate users and enforce company, role, and permission boundaries.
  • Process actions requested by authorized users.
  • Synchronize information with connected services.
  • Deliver account, security, support, and operational communications.
  • Diagnose errors, investigate misuse, and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
  • Maintain audit records and support data recovery and service continuity.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.
  • Develop new features using aggregated or de-identified information where reasonably possible.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How Information May Be Disclosed

We may disclose information:

  • To authorized users and administrators of the organization that controls the relevant TaskMerit workspace.
  • To service providers that help operate TaskMerit, including hosting, authentication, database, email-delivery, security, and monitoring providers.
  • To a third-party integration when an authorized user requests or enables that connection.
  • To authorized TaskMerit personnel for support, security, or troubleshooting purposes, subject to applicable access controls and audit logging.
  • When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request.
  • When reasonably necessary to protect TaskMerit, our customers, users, or the public from fraud, security threats, or harm.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of TaskMerit, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Current infrastructure and integration providers may include Vercel, Google and Firebase, Resend, and Intuit when QuickBooks is connected.

Service providers may use information only to perform services for TaskMerit or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

5. QuickBooks and Other Integrations

Each TaskMerit company authorizes its own third-party connections. Credentials and connected-company records are not shared between TaskMerit customer organizations.

When QuickBooks is connected, TaskMerit may receive and process company identifiers, customer records, accounting-related records, authorization tokens, and synchronization information according to the permissions approved by the connecting user.

An authorized user may disconnect an integration. Some synchronization history, audit records, or previously imported information may remain where needed for security, record integrity, contractual obligations, or legal compliance.

Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

TaskMerit may use essential cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to maintain sessions, protect accounts, remember necessary preferences, and operate the Service.

TaskMerit does not currently use customer business data for third-party advertising. If our use of tracking technologies materially changes, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choices.

7. Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain business and audit records, protect accounts, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements.

Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, customer instructions, contractual requirements, security needs, backup cycles, and applicable law.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it. Information may remain temporarily in protected backups or where retention is legally required.

8. Security

TaskMerit uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication safeguards, tenant separation, server-side authorization, restricted staff access, audit logging, monitoring, and vendor-security review.

No system can guarantee absolute security. Customers and users must protect their credentials, use appropriate account security, limit permissions, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

9. Customer Responsibilities

Organizations using TaskMerit are responsible for:

  • Collecting and using information lawfully.
  • Giving employees, contractors, and customers any required notices.
  • Obtaining any legally required consent for location tracking, communications, recordings, photographs, monitoring, or sensitive information.
  • Assigning appropriate user permissions.
  • Maintaining accurate records and removing access when it is no longer needed.
  • Following employment, privacy, chemical-application, environmental, tax, accounting, record-retention, and other laws applicable to their operations.

TaskMerit is a business software provider and does not determine an organization's legal obligations.

10. Privacy Choices and Requests

Depending on your location and relationship with TaskMerit, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to certain processing.

If an organization entered your information into TaskMerit, contact that organization first. TaskMerit will assist its customers with appropriate requests when required.

Direct requests may be sent to info@taskmerit.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request.

Users can also manage certain account information through the Service and can ask an authorized company administrator to update or remove their access.

11. Children

TaskMerit is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to TaskMerit, contact us at info@taskmerit.com.

12. United States Processing

TaskMerit is based in the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable legal protections.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TaskMerit and applicable requirements evolve. We will post the updated policy with a revised effective date. When required, we will provide additional notice before a material change takes effect.
